Paint on the walls; sort of ...

I finally got the three paint samples on walls this weekend.  One I liked much more than the other two ...

The first three are two different colors, and to be honest, I could not tell them apart; which is why there are three.  My favorite is numbers 4 and 5.  It's a much warmer, creamier color. I'll start with the paneled walls and go from there.

While I was looking at walls, I took a look at the bathroom and kitchen and found that the wall covering used is even worse than I thought.

It's some kind of textured vinyl that was put on very badly. What you don't see in the pictures is the wrinkles from where it was originally put up.  How they lived with it for so many years I have no clue - the wrinkles would have bugged me beyond belief. I have no idea how to even remove it; so, it looks like the kitchen and bathroom will be getting more of a face lift than I had planned.

One more surprise in the kitchen

Hard to tell, but the drawer does not open or close properly.  The rest of the drawers are in the same condition. So, the kitchen will also get a face lift some time in the future.  I can live with it for now.

I also took decent measurements of the tub - 27 X54. No pictures, though. Very limited selection due to the size of the thing so I may just go ahead and repaint it.  I can't even find a shower pan that will fit that very odd size.  There's really nothing wrong with it, other than the color, so a refinish is probably the smarter way to go anyway.

The sink and toilet will get replaced down the road, maybe at the same time I decide to deal with that horrible wall covering.
