New chair! Sort of ...

I finally got word from the reupholsterer that one of my chairs is done.  she sent me a couple of pictures and I am just thrilled at how they turned out.

I can't wait to see it in person; she told me that the pictures do not do the chair any justice.  She also fixed scratches, replaced wood plugs, and tightened it all up. I might be fighting the cat for this chair.

She told me she's working on the second one today; I'm really excited to see how it turns out!

 A little girl bought a house. Well, not so little. Girl, or house. True story! I bought a piece of property last month that has a wonderful little mobile home on it, with a full-length addition.  The addition had been used as a school house for the county; somehow the previous owner (hereafter known as Mr. B) purchased and added it to the mobile.  It just about tripled the living space. The mobile portion was built in 1972 or thereabouts.  A tiny kitchen / living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.   This blog will be a record of my adventures in remodeling. I hope. Almost burned the house down!

 And I am NOT kidding! I was up at the cabin, supposedly for a week, to clean up the place before the contractors came to do the bathroom and flooring. I turned on the heat pump, and then decided to turn on the heater in the bathroom to warm it up a bit.  A few hours later, I lost power to the cabin.  I first thought that it was an outage, but the power company called to let me know that there was plenty of power coming to the pole. So, I had an electrician come out and he determined the following: 1. I had two 100 amp services going to each side of the building, but 2. I only had 100 amps coming into the main panel. All of this means I needed to upgrade to 200amp services as soon as could be done. I did do some investigation and the cost would range between $2500 to $5000 to upgrade the service. I got a quote, which I agreed to (I mean, whaddyagonnado!) and waited to hear when things would start rolling. Turns out, I had to call the power company to turn power off, at wh...
